Dear Friends,

In our 17th year we noticed all of a sudden that the German Film Festival has grown to a point where it is actually the biggest Film Festival on this charming island.
Thank you, movie buffs, connoisseurs, and expats!

In order to celebrate in style, we bring an “acting” member of the Bavarian Royal Court: King Ludwig II (Sabin Tambrea). He will be with us for the opening ceremony of the festival and meet with the local film industry.

But not only Kings and Queens will be taken care of. The 200 Year Celebration of the German Composer Richard Wagner will be given a special venue and program. Kids will have a blast with our JUNIOR PROGRAM and the GOETHE GOES HEARTLAND series at the Cathay AMK Hub will continue in 2013. In a retrospective, we honor a leading voice in the “New German Cinema” JEAN-MARIE STRAUB, who turned 80 this year.

As a “Leckerbissen” we even managed to get Oscar winning Director Caroline Link’s latest release EXIT MARRAKECH which has just opened the Munich Film Festival.

My team and I have taken the best from Berlinale 2013, added some spice and gravy, mixed it up well to a Singapore dish and now: Dinner is served!

Guten Appetit!
